Why I'm supporting Hillary

As Robin Morgan so eloquently stated, "I'm voting for Hillary not because she's a woman-but because I am." Couldn't say it better.

Thank you for your intelligent insight into this race and more importantly into the issues that affect women at large.
I find it heart wrenching that the young women (and men) of today's society have the audacity to embrace a "movement" that makes them feel good, rather than studying the issues at hand. What is happening in today's society that our citizens have to entrust their ability to feel good about themselves to someone they barely know? To me it is a slap in the face of our "mother's" who have spent a lifetime facing down the stereotype that women make decisions based on emotions. I also find it insulting that as a women I am placed into a sub-group that automatically assumes I support Senator Clinton simply because she and I are the same gender. I, just as all supporters of Obama, McCain and Huckabee claim to have done, have made my decision to support Senator Clinton because she and I stand for the same issues. I will not vote for her because she is a woman. I will not vote for her because she is white. I will not vote for her because I am a mother. I will not vote for her because she is a Democratic. I will not vote for her because she makes me feel good about myself. I will vote for her because she stands up for what I believe in.

Dear anonymous,
Thank YOU for your insightful words. It just reminds me how we women always seem to take the high road and make a decision based on what we believe is right for the long term, and not what gives us temporary relief. You give me great hope. Thank you for expressing your thoughts here.
